The Yak goes for the headon at the last moment and you both open fire at the same time, however you shoot over the top of the Yak, while the Yak's shots smack straight into your engine and fuel tanks with good accuracy. You chose one of the worst options you could have picked and flew directly toward the higher Yak, likely ignoring the other enemy aircraft also in the area, going straight for a headon with the Yak. Another thing worth mentioning is that the enemy team also has altitude supremacy at this point, with no allied aircraft able to contest that. The Yak pilot is looking to camp above the spawn and trap players like yourself, and so it's highly unlikely they would give up their altitude advantage and dive down after you. This would have been a good point to dive down to safety. At this point, the Yak-9U is 5km out from your spawn, rapidly closing, and with an altitude advantage. You respawn in a P-39 (1:24), a decent plane with good armament, however like the P-51, it's not agile enough to outturn a Yak-9. The Yak pulls around quickly and gets a solid burst of 20mm cannonfire into your plane from the side, leaving you a flaming wreck. Because you're at the same altitude and don't have a lot of speed, the Yak has no problem turning to get guns on you, especially after you waste time rolling and pulling negative Gs. You were in a P-51, which turns like a truck in comparison to the Yak-9, a much more agile plane. Not only that, but you're both at about the same altitude, leaving you with few options after the headon. You then committed to a headon with the Yak-9U (1:00), which was a poor idea as although you have 4 cannons, they're wing mounted weapons whereas the Yak-9U has nose mounted weapons, plus your aim is not exactly good, while the Yak pilot seems to have greater accuracy. This gives you time to reach an altitude above your enemies and also gives time for the merge to cool down a little, with most planes dogfighting their way to lower altitudes leaving fewer targets up top for you to worry about. As a side note, as well as climbing harder, you'd have also been better off climbing off to the side before turning in toward the merge. It's clear you have no concept of energy management or how different planes perform.Īt the start of the match, you climbed, which is good, however you climbed at a light angle and so when you reached the swarm of enemies, there were plenty of aircraft at your altitude or higher, including the Yak-9U, which is a very capable fighter. What happened in that match was you being repeatedly energy trapped and killed because, frankly, you're terrible at flying. New players always face bots for a short while before being thrown in matches against mostly players, and the bots in war thunder tend to be completely stupid, especially in Arcade. When you said you were new and usually top of the team, that was probably when you were facing bots. I feel like this is less a problem of gameplay issues and more a problem of you having no idea how to fly properly.
